Little Ballerina

6″x8″ mixed media painting on paper covered canvas. The sides are 1.5″ deep and are painted turquoise.

This painting is available HERE

The little ballerina fixes her bun. Pushing those pins back where they belong.

Do you know how many pins it takes to keep Imogen’s hair in a bun?  It looks more like a Cinnamon bun (and I mean one of those huge 1200 calorie ones) than a dinner roll.  Today she wanted her hair in two buns on either side of her head, like Princess Leia.  Easier said than done. I used every pin in the house! It looked great, though and you should have seen her grin when all the kids at school called her Princess Leia.

Ahhh, simple things can make kids happy.   This a long way from Monday when she actually growled at me when I tried to do her hair.  ( She went to school ‘as is’ that day…much to her dismay).

This painting has the flavor of a Degas……and I love the touch of SPARKLES!
