Something On Her Mind (A Bee In Her Bonnet)

This is a 12″x16″ mixed media painting on paper covered canvas. The sides are 1.5″ deep and are red.
This painting is $275 and is available to purchase HERE.

I wanted to call this one ‘Bee In Her Bonnet’ but she really doesn’t looked angry or irritated. She does look like she has something on her mind, something she is mulling over …something she is planning. A secret meeting perhaps?

When I was a little girl I used to sit for hours and drawn women. I don’t know how many trees I went through but as I drew these women in their different dresses I would make up stories about them. I would sit there drawing and chatting away to myself for hours on end. It was my favorite thing to do.
Guess what?
It still is.
OK, I don’t actually speak out loud but the stories are still circling in my head. Maybe not in full sentences or even words but I really get an overwhelming feeling inside of what is happening to our heroine.

She is wondering if he meant it. She’s deciding, and unconvinced. If she goes, there will be consequences, and she knows them. This is her one moment of clarity.

She’ll go, and she’ll be sorry.

    I adore this piece, Maria.

  4. Thanks everyone.
    I love it.
I love hearing other people’s narrative of what they think is happening. Yesterday at coffee my friends had their own ideas.
    They were fascinating!
