In Your Heart

Close your eyes my sweet Imogen

You are not so alone as you think

when you dream

I am always with you

Safely, in your heart

I see this in your eyes when you look at me

I am safely in your heart

So close your eyes, sweet Imogen

And dream

Dream till your heart’s content

I am very excited to be a featured artist in this months issue of the Irish literary magazine The Moth. I have two full colour pages! Nice.  Check it out, they offer free shipping world wide!

The wall is silence, the grass is sleep,
Tall trees of peace their vigil keep,
And the Fairy of Dreams with moth-wings furled
Plays soft on her flute to the drowsy world.

I love the mix of Autumn colours/foliage and the beautiful picture of the girl beneath. Congrats on getting your picture featured in a magazine. It is an honor most deserved.

LOVE this! From the rich earthy palette and velvety moth to the delicate rendition of lace on her nightgown.
I am drawn to this like the moth is drawn to her flame-ing red hair!

    • Ha, ha, very good Shelly.
I was actually thinking of you when I did this one. I know how much you like this theme.

  3. How beautiful, Maria! Your text–especially the “I am always in your heart” part–reminds me of one of my favorite poems, which I’d planned to read at my mom’s funeral but had to deliver my brother’s eulogy instead because he broke down and couldn’t do it! Anyhoo, the poem is by ee cummings and it’s called i carry your heart with me. Read it here if you’re not familiar with it — http://allpoetry.com/poem/8494123-i_carry_your_heart_with_me-by-e_e_cummings.

Hope you love it as much as I do!

    • Love it, love it, love it!
So moving. I wish that you had been able to read that poem for your mother. Sounds like you are a pretty awesome sister as well, but really, was there ever any doubt?
I was just reading that the poem ‘I Carry Your Hear With Me’ is read at the end of the movie ‘In Her Shoes’. I think I will have to give that a try as well. I love Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette and it was 75″% fresh on Rotten Tomato
