Baneful Love and This Month’s GIVE AWAY (finally)

This is a7″x8.5″ mixed media painting on watercolour paper. (Flat image  to be framed or matted by you)

This painting is available HERE.

His love for the other woman across the room was the bane of our heroine’s existence.

Poor thing.

The bane of my existence?

Having to think up creative lunches and dinners that everyone is going to like.

EVERYDAY!

Ahhh, me.

OK so did anyone else notice that it is already OCTOBER  17 and I haven’t put up this month’s give away! CRAZY!  I can’t believe it.  I haven’t even mailed off last month’s winner yet (sorry Amanda). Geesh! What a bum I am.

OK,  you know the drill write a comment on this post and I will put your name in the hat! The give away reproduction of one of my originals is:

FIRST FROST

ALSO, check  out this beautiful blog of  Lesley Myrick.  She did a really nice post about me. Thanks so much, Lesley.

Please enter me in the drawing. It is a perfect print for the season. We’ve already had our first frost and I just cut the grass for the last time.

As for creative meals, a steaming pot of chili is always enjoyed at my house. Even my veggie-phobic kids will eat it as long as it’s not too spicy.

    Take care.

I love your title “Baneful Love”…to me, poisonous love…darkly beautiful! I love being able to spin a story from the psychological aspect of what I see in this piece which is ultimately a reflection of some part of me…or I probably wouldn’t notice it.

Aaahhh…’First Frost’…a crow AND sparkles…*swoon* If I’m in love with this painting, then does that mean that I’m like the Greek youth Narkissos, who fell in love with his reflection in water? Assuming that what I love about this piece is a reflection of me? Is that narcissism? lol

This is a challenge for me but for different reasons. I don’t have kids, I just have a husband. He has a whole set of food allergies, although they are technically sensitivities and he does not respond by developing typical allergic reactions but by becoming hyperactive. He is on the Feingold diet which means he reacts to salycilic acid and several other things. He can’t have tomatoes, has a slight reaction to many fruits and can’t have any artificial flavors or colors.
I got used to cooking everything from scratch a long time ago and it was fine because we took turns cooking. But then I had to change my diet because of health reasons. I now follow a dairy free, gluten free diet and avoid all refined sugars. My husband adores full fat dairy products and baking. Oooh la la it has been an adjustment! And I have started doing all the cooking because he has taken a job with a lot of overtime and I have switched over to a job with less hours.
We’re starting to get the hang of it. What will it be LIKE when we have kids? Picky is not going to be on the menu. I know, famous last words and all, but I might just have to take a hard line for my sanity!!

Pleasing everyone while cooking is so darn hard. Especially little girls haha.

Also this is one of my absolute favorite paintings of yours. I have been hoping to see it pop up in the giveaways! ❤

First Frost is gorgeous. I would hang it beside my magpie painting by Gordon Clover, right above my bronze crow statue I purchased from a gallery at the end of Jasper Avenue….as I write mystery novels, crows are rather dear to me. A grouping of them is “a murder of crows”, after all.
Love your stuff, Maria. Yours will be the next real art I buy.

I hope I’m not too late. For this month! Just losing my mind…. I thought I had already sent this to you. Iove your cries but not necessarily the frost!!!! I should realise that winter will come with or without me so maybe I will dig back and enjoy it. Thanks Maria
