Please Help Me, Help Nepal

This is a 9″x12″ mixed media painting, the sides are 1.5″ deep and are red . I have painted this piece in hopes of raising some money for the  Nepal Earthquake relief. 100% of the proceeds from this auction will go to Dr’s Without Borders:

The Canadian government announced Monday that it will match donations to the Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund dollar-for-dollar until May 25.

This painting depicts four Nepalese girls in traditional ceremonial costumes.  Nepal is such a beautifully ornate country.  Painting this was truly a pleasure to my senses but I couldn’t help but feel sadness at the same time.  At the time  I am writing this, they are estimating over 4000 people have died as a result of this massive earthquake. My brain can’t even comprehend the horrors that these people are going through right now.  Please bid generously. Let’s make a difference.

I have been working on these lovely boxes. You can keep all your treasures inside.  They have giclee quality prints of some of my favourite pairings mounted on the top and have all been personally put together by me. No two boxes will be the same.  I have put a lovely piece of patterned burlap inside to really make it feel like a box you can put your most cherished things into. I hope you like them!

They will be available in my Etsy store or can be ordered directly from me, by email me maria@mariapacewynters.com or coming down to the Gallery Shop at 10563 97ST ( in Edmonton) or calling 780-604-7523.

These are made to order so processing time is a little longer than for other orders.

The paining is 1.5″ deep and the sides are red.

Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.
 Elizabeth Gilbert quotes

Who are you?, said the Caterpillar…I-I hardly know, Sir, just at present,” Alice replied rather shyly, “at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have changed several times since then.”  Lewis Carroll, from Alice in Wonderland
