“Whatever you are physically…male or female, strong or weak, ill or healthy–all those things matter less than what your heart contains. If you have the soul of a warrior, you are a warrior. All those other things, they are the glass that contains the lamp, but you are the light inside.”
― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Angel

“Go back?” he thought. “No good at all! Go sideways? Impossible! Go forward? Only thing to do! On we go!” So up he got, and trotted along with his little sword held in front of him and one hand feeling the wall, and his heart all of a patter and a pitter.”

This year has been tough. When my Dr. found a lump in my breast in May, the first thing … I mean the absolute FIRST thing I thought was: “I have to get rid of the gallery shop” … weird right? THAT was my first thought. I did not realize, until that moment, how much the gallery shop was stressing me out. While many companies were getting rid of brick and mortar, I chose to go the other direction. The stress about having to pay out every month in order to get to zero must have weighed heavily on me. I didn’t realize it, but it did. So, this will be my last event at my cute little shop. Sad, but I’m excited at the prospect of building a studio space in my own backyard. I imagine looking out the glass doors of my dining room and down to the bottom of my garden into my studio . That vision fills me with joy. It really does . I choose to focus on that happy thought for the next few months. I wish I could say that I was done with my health journey but unfortunately I have to have a mastectomy on the other side in the New Year. They found a lump on the other side during the first mastectomy so I get to do this all over again! I am not happy about it but I don’t need radiation or chemo so I am counting my blessings.
Anyway, please stop by for some holiday cheer, I would love to see you.
Much love to you all,
Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the New Year!

OK, This is exciting! My painting ‘Butterfly Hat’ can be seen at various LRT stations in Edmonton for the next six months. Her first stop is the McKernan/ Belgravia LRT station where I am sure she will brighten these cold winter days here in Edmonton. Let me know if you see her. This painting looks great as a mounted or unmounted reproduction so if you’d like her to continue to brighten your days, you can have her in your own home forever! Just contact me maria@mariapacewynters.com and I will give you size options and prices.
This whole exciting project will be launched Dec.8 @ noon at Tickets On The Square. Be there and pick up your own set of limited edition trading cards of the 45 images (32 artists). How cool is that!?
My other painting “I Can See My Dreams” was also chosen to go up as a billboard. This painting will be going up in about three months time but I am not sure of the location , however, if you would like to see her sooner on a daily basis, she is available in mounted and unmounted reproductions. Just email me maria@mariapacewynters.com or message me here and I will give you size options and prices.
Here is some more info on this whole, very cool project:
