We have a heat warning advisory today here in Edmonton. I’m going to try to get as much done this morning in the studio and then head on over to the Legislature building with the girls so we can dip our toes in the water. It is days like this that I long for the beach. It is always cooler at the beach. My heat kind of aches for the beach and the frigid cooling waters in Victoria (where I grew up). Scarlett said she wouldn’t care and she’d jump right in, but she is a bit of a fish, so that is understandable. Although I would happily wade around, I don’t think I ever actually swam in the Victoria ocean. When I was in my late teens, early twenties, I would go to the beach often. Reading my book and dozing in the late afternoon. I often witnessed an old lady taking her daily plunge in the icy water and I remembered thinking she was giving her heart a jump start. I still wouldn’t be brave enough but I’m sure it was keeping her young!
