I am not sure what is going in with me. I  definitely call myself a figurative painter but lately I am not feeling like painting people. I guess I often do take a break from the figure, choosing to paint crows or koi or dress forms or flowers. I’ve never done a clothes line before.  I am not sure how I feel about it. Maybe a little to landscape-y for me … I am not a landscape artist at all … but why make rules about ones self? I taught myself that 10 years ago. When I was younger, I would limit myself, give myself rules. ‘you can’t paint that’ or ‘you can’t paint LIKE that’ … ‘you need to find you voice, if you paint THAT it won’t look like you’ I would tell myself.

Bull sh*t.

If you love it. Paint it. It will always look like you because … it is you!  Silly girl.
