The Wrap Party will be Sunday 11/18, 530pm EST through 12 noon EST on Monday 11/19.

These are the original paintings that I will have in the auction tomorrow.

Trust Yourself, Above All Others, Maria Pace-Wynters

Title: Trust Yourself Above All Others

Size: ORIGINAL 10”x 20”, mixed media painting on wood stretcher, the sides are  1.5” deep and are red. There is no need to frame this painting, looks great as is. Hook on back for hanging.

I have a 12 year old and a 15 year old. They are girls with good souls and good hearts. At this age, especially 15, Mamma bear has to start trusting that the groundwork she has laid will stand up to the difficult situations and choices young people have to make at this age. I trust them to remember that listening to their heart (and their gut) in these situations, will help them.  They know themselves, this I must trust.

The Patchwork HAt

Title: The Patchwork Hat

Size: ORIGINAL 12”x16”, mixed media painting on wood stretcher.  1.5” deep and are red. There is no need to frame this painting, looks great as is. Hook on back for hanging.

This painting sat for a long time. I wanted to do something different with her hat but I just didn’t know what. When I started doing the patchwork dresses a lightbulb went on. She needed a patchwork hat. So fun, with all of the patterns and colours working together.

I Carry You With Me

Title: I carry You With Me

Size: ORIGINAL  3”x 24”, mixed media painting on wood stretcher.  1.5” deep and are red. There is no need to frame this painting, looks great as is. Hook on back for hanging.

I love painting these long thin paintings but they are very hard to document. They fit into places that most normal size paintings won’t. Not having enough wall space is definitely a common problem. I have some patrons that are now rotating their walls like they rotate their clothes seasonally LOL.

Always Connected, Maria Pace-wynters

Title: Always Connected

Size: ORIGINAL  8”x16”, mixed media painting on wood stretcher, the sides are 1.5” deep and are red. There is no need to frame this painting, looks great as is. Hook on back for hanging.

The red thread, featured here again. Just playing with the idea of always being connected to someone even if you are not together, physically, at the moment. I think of this with my kids, there is a red thread that will always connect us, no matter what. I moved away from my mother in my late twenties but our connection is so strong. We are bound together, that connection will never break.

An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but will never break.

Title: My Hope

Size: ORIGINAL 12”x 6”, mixed media painting on wood stretcher, the sides are 1.5” deep and are red. There is no need to frame this painting, looks great as is. Hook on back for hanging.

Finding hope in the chaotic world is hard right now.  As usual, I paint so I can find hope. I paint so I can see my dreams. I  hope that my paintings can give you hope too.

The Ornate Vase, Maria Pace-Wynters

Title: The Ornate Vase

Size: ORIGINAL  8”x16”, mixed media painting on wood stretcher, the sides are  1.5” deep and are red. There is no need to frame this painting, looks great as is. Hook on back for hanging.

I had fun with this one. I saw this extremely ornate vase and I just had to paint it.

The Butterfly Vase, Maria Pace-Wynters

Title: The Butterfly Vase

Size: ORIGINAL 20”x16”, mixed media painting on canvas stretcher, the sides are 1.5” deep and are painted red. There is no need to frame this painting, looks great as is. Hook on back for hanging

I saw a photo of  a beautiful vase with butterflies on it and I knew I had to paint it.  I often find inspiration looking in shops, magazines and online. If I love it, then I want to paint it. I really do paint what I love. The vase I saw didn’t look exactly like this and I added the peonies but I like the way it turned out. For some reason, I am loving pink right now! I go through these different colour fascinations but red is always close my heart.

Magnolia Dreamer

Title: Magnolia Dreamer

Size: ORIGINAL  12”x16”, mixed media painting on mixed media board. This painting is flat and will need to be matted and framed by you.

Oh, she is so dreamy, this girl.

“Love is an untamed force. When we try to control it, it destroys us. When we try to imprison it, it enslaves us. When we try to understand it, it leaves us feeling lost and confused.”

― Paulo Coelho

Perhaps our dreams are like this as well?

Don’t over think them. Just do what you love. Be authentic to yourself. Listen to your heart. Do these things and you will be living your dream.

Title: The Patchwork Dress

Size: ORIGINAL 12”x18”, mixed media painting on wood stretcher.  1.5” deep and are red. There is no need to frame this painting, looks great as is. Hook on back for hanging.

This group of paintings features many girls wearing patchwork clothes.  Many years ago I had painted a girl with a patchwork dress and wrote a story about it. I am always inspired by fashion and I noticed this season in vogue that patchwork clothing has made a comeback. This made me think of my story about the Patchwork Dress and inspired me to continue my creative process, by looking back and then making it current. Often times, I will go off down a creative path and for some unknown reason, that path gets disrupted or veers off in another direction. Sometimes I forget about why something inspired me so much and I don’t get back on that path until years later. Of course, by that time, things have changed so it is never exactly the same as where it was left off. This is the way I chase inspiration. Never allowing myself to stop too long for reflection but constantly forcing myself to move forward, paint what I know, paint what I love … just paint.  This is the story I wrote back in 2009

“It wasn’t always a patchwork dress. In the beginning it was pink with tiny little white polka dots. Now there was no sign of the original dress, it had been patched so many times. The original was completely covered.

To the girl, each tiny square symbolized her mothers’ love. Painstakingly sewn with precision and care. Her mother had mended every hole, tended to every tear, and covered every rip with her needle and thread with the material from her own dresses. She knew that her mother did it without resentment or regrets and would continue to do so until all the dresses in her closet were threadbare.

The knowledge of this, was her mother’s greatest gift.”

Love Made Visible, Maria Pace-Wynters

Title: Love Made Visible

Size: ORIGINAL 16”x 24”, mixed media painting on canvas stretcher, the sides are 1.5” deep. There is no need to frame this painting, looks great as is. Hook on back for hanging.

These girls, with their birds and nests in their hair are a continuum of paintings I did in the ‘Healing And Transformation’ auction. At that time, I wrote about it this way:

I carry my children with me everywhere. I am pretty sure most mothers do. I was not a whole person before I had my girls. I needed them in order to create my art. They gave me that gift of inspiration. They gave me my dream.

Before I had my girls, I don’t think that I could imagine the love I was going to carry for them. They truly represent the love that my husband have for one another. They are the perfect manifestation of our love. They are my love made visible.

You Are My Destiny

Title: You Are My Destiny

Size: ORIGINAL 10”x 20”, mixed media painting on canvas stretcher, the sides are 1.5” deep and are red. There is no need to frame this painting, looks great as is. Hook on back for hanging.

CHINESE PROVERB

This year marks my 20th anniversary with my husband. All year our relationship has been on the forefront of my mind, how we met and all the things we have gone through together. I have know Chris since I was sixteen years old. I saw a photo of him that my friend had taken of him and his friend and I inquired who he was.  She informed me that the boy I was pointing to was Chris Wynters. He looked so familiar to me, even his name sounded ‘right’. I then made a statement that only sixteen year olds can make (5 seconds after just seeing a photo of a boy they nothing about), I said “I love Chris Wynters”. I then did everything in my power to get to know Chris Wynters (I always referred to him by his full name).  And I did get to know him and we became really good friends, much to my annoyance. To make a long story short, we did end up going out for a short time but then he broke up with me and eventually we became friends again. Then he moved away. I carried on with my life, got married, lost a baby and got divorced. Enter Chris Wynters over a decade later. Pen pals, long distance relationship, marriage, heartache of trying for a baby for 5 years, two babies, and now 20 years of marriage. I know that I had to meet Chris when I was sixteen and I also know that I had to go through all of the life stuff I went through (as did he) prior to us getting together again. I also know that through it all, we were connected, we were, are, soulmates. So as my anniversary approached, I came across the above quote about ‘the red thread of fate’.  It fit so well with how I was feeling and then, as is often the case when you are on the correct path in life, I kept seeing references to red thread. I even made him hop out of the car because there was red thread tangled up in a tree right next to the Starbucks drive thru we were going through at the time. It was everywhere! So, now we are thinking of celebrating our 20th year with a small red line circling our pinky fingers, fitting I think.

Wonder Full Maria Pace-Wynters

Title: Wonder Full

Size: ORIGINAL 11”x 14.5”, mixed media painting rag paper. This painting is flat and will need to matted and framed by you.

This one may mark the beginning of playing with a new colour pallette. I love this green and pink together. I think this colour combination is up there with red and turquoise.  This girl is so full of wonder. She is delicate and soft but I still feel her strength from within. She is filled with wonder for this world and filled with conviction to keep this world a place where young people are allowed to wonder.

I Am The Sould That Lives Within COPY

Title: I Am The Soul That Lives Within

Size: ORIGINAL 14”x 18” mixed media painting on wood cradle, the sides are 1.5” deep and are red. There is no need to frame this painting, looks great as is. Hook on back for hanging.

This girl is so strong, she really seems to know herself. She has power, strength and conviction, deep down to her core. This painting is one that knew herself from the beginning. Just drawing her, I knew her strength and I knew I just had to listen to her carefully to know how to proceed. Some paintings are like that, they come with their own ideas, the come perfectly formed. Other require more prodding, more conjoling to come out into the world. I love painting both ways, the only challenge is knowing when to lead and when to listen.

Soulmates, Maria Pace-Wynters

Title: Soulmates

Size: ORIGINAL  12”x16”, mixed media painting on mixed media board. This painting is flat and will need to be matted and framed by you.

This is another painting inspired by ‘The Red Thread of Fate’.
